Portland Racquet Works is the result of working with racquet sports equipment for 40+ years!

When I was 10 years old, my Dad began a new job as the Director of Tennis and part owner of a brand new tennis club. My Mom managed the pro shop. As the new shop was getting close to opening day, a brand new Serrano racquet stringing machine arrived. Only one problem...the shop didn’t have a stringer on staff. No problem! Let’s have Chris do the stringing, my parents decided. As an up-and-coming junior player, with a serious addiction to tennis equipment(wood racquets in those days), I was ready to take on the challenge. Little did I know, that this introduction to racquet stringing would lead me to a lengthy career working in the sport I loved so dearly.

My tennis playing days have taken me around the world, as a junior, college(D1), professional and now a competitive senior player. My work career has been equally exciting, with much of the time spent in product development and marketing/sales roles for various racquet sports brands.

Through the years, I have maintained a racquet stringing and customizing business where I have strung at ATP Tour, WTA Tour, and Davis Cup events. My clientele has included World Champions, as well as National and State Champions.
